SATIRE: Below I enumerate five of the reasons President Barack Obama deserves to be reelected as President of the United States in November 2012.
Reason #1: Obama's Great Ability to Get Along With Congress
During a 2008 Presidential campaign debate, candidate Obama emphasized his people skills. He stated clearly that he would get along well with Congress -- much better than President George W. Bush.
So far, Obama hasn't done well at this. But he's only been in office about four years. Give him more time.
Reason #2: Obama's Success in the War on Terrorism
During the 2008 Presidential campaign, candidate Obama committed to add 30,000 troops to the U.S. involvement in the war on terror in Afghanistan, get most U.S. troops out of Iraq, and focus on seeking Osama Bin Laden.
Obama fulfilled those commitments.
The war on terrorism is ongoing. Some say the world is more dangerous and terrorism worse than when Obama took office. Violence in Iraq and Afghanistan continues. Also, numerous other terrorists are around besides Bin Laden. But Obama needs more time to finish the job.
Reason #3: The Economy
In 2008 President Obama promised to create lots of jobs and get the unemployment rate down.
Many jobs have been created.
Yes, the unemployment rate remains over 8%. Lots of people have basically given up looking for work, so the real unemployment rate is significantly higher than 8%. And many of the jobs created were short-term Census Bureau jobs, temporary agency jobs, etc.
But give Obama more time to create more permanent jobs.
Reason #4: Reductions in the Federal Budget Deficit
In 2008 Obama criticized President George W. Bush for his huge budget deficits and promised to cut them substantially if elected.
The budget deficit is anticipated to be over one trillion dollars ($1,000,000,000,000) again this year. But Obama will cut the budget deficit in his second term rather than his first term. Give him more time.
Reason #5: Obama Has Done a Better Job Than His Predecessor
George W. Bush initiated the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, set up huge budget deficits, and arguably helped create many (if not most) of the current problems in the country. President Obama is doing better than Bush.
Yes, I know that George W. Bush is not running in this election. But that is irrelevant.
Reelect Obama in the 2012 Presidential Election
For the five reasons listed above (and others not mentioned), President Obama deserves reelection.

The views also do not accurately portray the opinions of the author. But there are some tidbits of truth in this fictional piece.
