From Hamilton County, Ohio: World's Best Water?

In a competition, Hamilton County, Ohio's tap water was judged the "Best Tap Water in the World." I admit I don't know how many tap waters competed though.

Better tap water might encourage people to drink more of it instead of consuming other beverages that are less beneficial for one's health.

I doubt that every tap water in the world was tested. But still this seems to bode well for residents of the Hamilton County, Ohio area, which includes Cincinnati.

I hope this apparently tasteful water encourages persons to drink more of it instead of potentially more harmful beverages like carbonated soft drinks and coffee.

Hamilton County has always been at the forefront with many of their programs-- we here at Louisville work with them frequently and help each other out. Congratulations to Hamilton!

I'll confess that I only use our town water for cooking, because I don't like the way it tastes. We fill water bottles from the farm well and bring them home every week. LOL

Too much chlorine? I understand-- I'm not fond of drinking bleach myself. Basically, what we're tasting is not chlorine, but chloramine, an after-product. (Boy what you learn when you work at a water company.) You may be too far down on the line to fix it, but a Brita water filter may help if you can't get to the farm sometime. :-)

Love you, dear friend! Very much!!!

Dowser and etva, thank you both for your input!

Where do you live, etva? You are fortunate to have a farm well with good water though it may require some work to maintain it!

Dowser, thanks for your insider perspective on a water company!

Overall, I am happy with the taste and safety of my water here in Lexington, Kentucky. It takes a lot of trust I guess to depend on the water to be treated properly and transported safely through miles of pipes to one's home. I am grateful to all the water company employees (and others) who make that happen!

Hey James! I'm in northern Virginia - not so far from y'all.

Dowser, I don't know why town water tastes funny to me. I think I'm just used to well water and don't like change - LOL.

I'm ashamed to admit that I don't know much about our water, and what goes into it. I have reports, but I don't really understand the data, and I lack the knowledge to interpret the reports. I just have to trust the powers that be, and I suppose it's easier for me to do, since the town is small and I know that the leaders are drinking the same water I am -- and so are their kids in our schools:)

Dowser, you water company employees are often underappreciated! Thanks again!

Thanks etva! Knowing that a town's leaders drink the same water does help one feel better about their concern over the water!

Davao City’s tap water has been tested internationally for quality against all the major bottled waters sold in the market and was adjudged the best in terms of cleanliness, safety, mineral content, and taste. No need for boiling, distilling, purifying, adding of minerals. It is absolutely perfect. And no less than the World Health Organization has certified that it is the best in the world.
