The study results make sense to me.
However, it also seems feasible that the persons who were able to quit smoking had more willpower, more self confidence, and less severe depression to start with -- I wonder if the study took that into consideration.

That's interesting! Thanks for the additional quit-smoking ammo, James! It makes a LOT of sense to me, personally, since I already know how different I feel after going "teetotal" recently.
