Many products retailers market seem to do more harm than good. I hope parents will exercise the good judgment not to buy high-heeled shoes for young children.

Little girls unfortunately have the rest of their lives to be sex symbols. Let them be little as long as they can be. I wonder if a parent or the manufacturer of these shoes is to be held responsible the first time one of the children snap a leg in half or get a heel spur? Would social services intervene and look seriously at removing the child from the parents with poor judgement? But on the other hand....what little girl hasn't got a pair of glittery, high heeled plastic princess heels, a tiara and a magic wand? It seems innocent enough when you purchase your toddler the dress up princess kit with matching two inch dangling earrings.Where does it all start or stem from and where do we draw the line?

A three year old in high heels? Those poor kids. Mine will likely get a Disney dress up chest at some point but she'll definitely not get anything high-heeled to wear for any other purpose. The sad part is, they'll sell.

Take a look at the media... especially Suri Cruise. In the news every day with her mother allowing her to wear heels. These people spend a fortune on this child. Not only does this set a bad example but with all the money used needlessly here, some of this money could go to a good charity cause.

It is the responsibility of a parent to keep their kids grounded in reality and to make them socially responsible and that includes limiting consumerism.

Nicely put, tdk022755!

And the parents' task would be easier if the mass media, peers, etc., were a positive influence.

Retailers do not buy high-heeled shoes for girls three-years old; parents and/or guardians do.

Don't buy the shoes... that's all just don't buy the shoes. There's a little word called No and it's very powerful. Learn it and use it.
